FACT: There are three small solar facilities operational in Montezuma County that are part of Empire Electric's 5% allotment for power they are allowed to produce. Rocky Ford is south of Cortez on Road G. Totten Lake is on Road 29, and Montezuma is next to the Empire Electric offices on Road L.4. They cover about 20 - 50 acres or less each. They are not in the same size category as Canyonland Solar (last published figure was 960 acres) or SunBear Solar at 5,500 acres (dependent upon where you look).
